This forum is about programming games, independent from the used programming language. Programming problems, which are specific to games can be discussed here. For example you may discuss how to program world editors, AI or physics. If your problems are specific to a particular API or language you should better post them in the corresponding section of "Programming without Game Maker".

In this forum questions about the installation and the use of IDEs and compilers for C++ and C# can be asked. You may also discuss the advantages and disadvantages of different IDEs and compilers or post news about them. It also includes a section for tutorials.

General programming questions can be asked here. You may ask why the code you wrote does not compile, how you would manage a bit of data best, how some STL container is used best or how something would be done with a template. It also includes a section for tutorials. As long as your C++/C# question is not compiler specific and does not deal with a particular API this is the right place to post it.

In this category anything dealing with miscellaneous APIs (application programming interfaces) can be posted as long as it is not related to 3D, physics or sound. For example you may ask questions about the WinAPI, .net, wxWidgets or MFC here. It also includes a section for tutorials.

In this section topics related to APIs for 3D rendering, physics and sound can be discussed. For example you may ask questions about Ogre, Direct3D, OpenAL and ODE here. It also includes a section for tutorials.

Any project which does not use Game Maker may be presented here. Games, applications, tools or whatever else you are working on.
