Downloaded the 2.1 version and tested. Found some problems with terrain shaking in some points. I got a new PC, my specs are: CoreDuo E8400 3.0 Ghz Sapphire Radeon HD3870 512M 4Gb Ram (4.4.4.12 800Mhz) in quad channel Win XP SP2, Catalyst 8.4 I recorded some videos with CamStudio 2.5 Beta, encoded with Xvid 1.1.3: here they are http://www.mediafire.com/?9mdmw1czfi9 5.86 mb zipped file Other problems: - in the first rooms it's impossible to jump while moving, while it's possible in the wood - the car can't turn enough to avoid obstacles and finish the ride - enabling the fullscreen and then disabling it will result in a badly positioned window wich is impossible to recenter because the mouse is wrapped inside it

maybe somebody should program an optimized version of game-maker... The black hole ball, portal, and heat distortion had its effect work only the first time and didn't warp the screen afterwards on one of the comps I tried it on It's great work in all regards and it's the first legit-appearing program ever made by gm. Great work! |

Well, yeah, you've got some visible LoD changing there . There's not much that can be done to avoid that.
Well, I had no problems jumping in the first room, while moving.
It is a little hard, but it can be done . Don't you like the challenge?
Well, how would you enable and disable fullscreen while the application is running (without changing the editable)?
Well, what do you mean by afterwards? What did you do after you saw them working for the first time? |

Are you sure ? I mean the terrain height, not its detail. ![]() Keep the W key pressed, and press the spacebar: it won't work. The opposite does. If you don't believe me, I can make you a video of that too. |

Well, how would you decrease the detail without changing the height at some positions? I am sure.
I'm doing exactly this and it does work. |

Maybe your keyboard has issues with W and space? |

My keyboard is a new Logitech one, and I use it to play Quake Wars without problems. This seems absurd to me: I tried many times, but no way

Pretty much a necropost, but let me clarify on keyboards. Actually, it's probably related to your keyboard. The buffer of it to be exact. A keyboard is serial by default, it has 100-something keys, and only 1 datapin to send the data on. It does this by using a grid for the keys. Most cheap keyboards group keys together to make the processor in the keyboard more simplified. Problem with that is, keys in the same group won't work good together, so the keyboard sends a null message instead of the actual key(s) pressed, and the computer usually gives that with a "beep". Most logitech keyboards have good layouts, but more sophisticated ones (like the gaming series) have more addons (and more buttons), so they group keys to keep kost low. I have had numerous keyboards in my life, and about 70% of them had grouping issues. It really is evident when playing a battlefield game, and you try to fly a airplane with just the keyboard. You have to keep W pressed to keep going, press the cursor keys to move about, and spacebar or control to fire. The qwer keys are grouped on most keyboards, and so are the arrow and spacebar/control, so pressing more keys from one group usually "overflows" the buffer of the keyboard. Keyboards I had which doesn't have this limitation are the logitech ultra slim keyboard and the microsoft natural keyboard. You can test it by opening notepad, and press control + a + d. It will beep if it has a grouped layout, and will print the characters if its a grid layout. |
Here are the thrill seekers, corrupt and immoral.

Glad to see you, Bami ! The two-keys-pressed-beep is also called ghosting, I know about it, but, isn't it strange that I get a jump+move problem only in this demo ? Ah, ctrl+a+d results in a bip, but I can still move and jump in other games. EDIT: tried the latest version of the demo, same problem. Jumping and then moving in the air is possible. Jumping while walking is impossible. I found out that I can "move"+jump as I hit the wall.
