I'm working on a tactical FPS, (and you're probably getting tired of first person shooters...) so I decided I'd tell you guys about it. Here's the story so far: Thyrainia and Lorwin have always been rivaling countries. However, over the years, tensions have risen to the point where a war must begin. Lorwin crossed the line and began an all-out assault on Thyrainia to take control of the country. They came in aircraft like no one had ever seen before, boasting fire power that could flatten anything in a 20 mile radius within minutes.. They have wiped out nearly half of the entire country and have nearly reached the capital. They are now planning on taking the capital and with it, the rest of the country. You are a soldier in the Thyrainian military, and your patrol has recieved orders from your commander to stop them at all costs. I plan on putting in all standard FPS features, and once I get the hang of the GM Bullet DLL, putting in some physics. There will be at least a decent sized weapon selection, all of them unique because of the sci-fi setting. Since it's going to be a tactical FPS, it's going to be more about trying to be sneaky in taking out enemies instead of going in and just gunning them all down within the minute. The engine is still being built, and I'll try to get some screenshots in as soon as I can. If you'd like to help me on this project, PM me about it and we'll discuss what you can do. Dude. Redo the gun. It sucks, even if it were textured Anyway, sounds interesting but I have a few suggestions: 1) This is a tactical FPS, so there should be more cover. 2) A cover system, like that in Rainbow Six Vegas, would be awesome. I love that system. 3) Perhaps squad commands? Or, even better, larger-than-squad commands? |

Depends. I haven't thought about that yet, although I know it will definitely have a single player mode, so if it's multiplayer, it's going to be an option, and not the entire game. EDIT: Positions that can be filled if you would like to help me with this game:

Hmmm... I wouldn't mind a rocket launcher or a shotgun. Don't make it with hands, because when I finally get the main character for my game, I'm going to make a copy of the character model once it's been made, take the arms, and use those on guns. I will give you credit for your work. |

I have fog already, and I'll try to put in some mipmapping. This is just a test level for now, because I'm still trying to complete the engine. |
